Meeting Update I just wanted to share a few of the items from last night’s home and school meeting with the group.   It was well attended and we made great plans for the events that are upcoming at the school.   If you did not get a chance to stop in then this is a short update of a few of the items we covered. Teacher Appreciation Day The next event on the home and school calendar is the teacher appreciation day event.   In years past this was spread out over the entire week but after discussing it has now been compressed in to one day so the pot-luck and all other related activities of that day will take place on Wednesday February 12th. We are looking for the volunteers to help with this event in the following areas: -    Volunteers who would be willing to cook an item for the pot-luck lunch -       Volunteers who will help source and distribute the small appreciation gifts to the support staff at the school -       Volunteers who can help arrange the pot-luck area and ensure that the food is arranged in time for lunch -       Volunteers who can assist with playground supervision so that more teachers can participate -       A central volunteer who can work closely with the group and be at the school for the event -       We are also looking for an executive member who can assist with the group planning of the event  Easter Basket Auction Jodie already has some of the planning for the Easter Basket Auction in the works.  She had polled the teachers to inquire what they felt that the fundraising money should go towards and after reviewing the suggestions that were submitted and having a long discussion on which item best suited the students it so far has been suggested that a revamp of the library may be in the works. It still has to be presented to the teachers this week for their thoughts. If we go this route then we could see the library be transformed into a colorful and vibrant area with many new and updated books along with new lower shelving that can better display the books and separate sitting areas (bean bag chairs/small mats etc.) where the students can go off and read a book in peace.  The entire room would be transformed over a multi-year project.  We will have to discuss this further in the months and years ahead. TNB Theatre New Brunswick this year will take place on April 7th and will feature “Wally finds his inner bear” With less than four weeks until the appreciation day event, keep an eye open for email updates on how things are coming together and as always we appreciate all of our volunteers and hope to see you soon.
