Science East and Parkwood Elementary are proud to present an evening of hands-on learning for the entire community. Come join in the fun while learning about New Brunswick's forests, wildlife and oceans. Learn more about conserving, alternative energy and much more! Tuesday, February 24th from 6:00-7:30 pm at Parkwood School, 1125 Highland Avenue.
Next week students are invited to participate in
Parkwood’s Fun Week. Students are invited to dress in the theme of
the day. There will be no time missed
from class…..students will still be involved in their regular school routines. Students need to get dressed AT HOME. They will not be allowed to change at school.
Monday –
Favorite Color Day – dress in your
favorite color
Tuesday –
Fitness Day – dress in your favorite
team jersey or if you play a sport/dance dress in your uniform or dance clothes
Wednesday –
Sun and Surf Day – wear flip flops,
sunglasses, etc.

Please be advised that the deadline for French Immersion registration this year is Monday March 16. The informaiton meeting has been rescheduled for Monday, February 23rd at Terry Fox Elementary School on Monday, February 16th at 6:30 pm. Registration forms will be availbale that evening or parents can call their child's school to have a form sent home.

The Royal Canadian
Mounted Police (RCMP) needs help in naming a handful of their newest (and
cutest) recruits!
The Police Dog
Service Training Centre (PDSTC) in Innisfail, Alberta is asking young Canadians
to suggest names for 10 German Shepherd puppies recently born at the Centre. Children
are encouraged to be original and imaginative in finding names that will serve
these puppies well in their careers with Canada’s national police force. When
thinking of names, it is important to keep in mind that these are working
police dogs, not pets.

The 8th
annual Snow Bear Winter Carnival is being held on Sunday, February 22nd
at Bathurst High School and Coronation Park from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. Registration begins at 12:00 pm with a free
chicken bouillon being served from noon until 1:30, while quantities last. The Bathurst Community Band will entertain
from 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm in the cafeteria, and then the BHS Jazz band will
follow from 1:15 pm to 2:00 pm. All participation
activities begin at 12:30 pm. Indoor
activities include mini-volleyball, mini-basketball, pickle ball, soccer and
