With the updates and additions to the
playground complete, the Home and School at Parkwood is excited to share Phase
One of its new project, to begin from the proceeds of this year’s Easter Basket
Auction being held in April.
The Home and School will be taking on the
challenging – yet exciting – task of converting
Parkwood’s library space to a new and modern Learning Commons.
This space has received minimal attention over the past 31 years; it is
On Friday Feb. 28th our
school will observe February Pink Day.
This is our International Stand Up to Bullying event that supports our
classroom guidance outcomes about Bullying Awareness, and it is a fun way for
us all to show that we work to make Parkwood Elementary a Bully Free Zone.
Please help your child remember to wear a 'touch of pink' this Friday - or hey, help your child go all out in a Pink Way, to celebrate
Pink Day, International Stand Up to Bullying Day. We’ll be holding a Pink Wave during our end-of-month assembly on
Meeting Update
I just wanted to share a few of the items from last
night’s home and school meeting with the group. It was well
attended and we made great plans for the events that are upcoming at the
school. If you did not get a chance to stop in then this is a short
update of a few of the items we covered.
Teacher Appreciation Day
The next event on the home and school calendar is the
teacher appreciation day event. In years past this was spread out
over the entire week but after discussing it has now been compressed in to one
